The Wildhorse Traverse is a challenging point to point destination trail running race that starts on the shores of Okanagan Lake, in Kelowna, BC and finishes on the shores of Okanagan Lake, in Naramata, BC. It traverses Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park and through rocky canyons. It take you along the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) and past signature Okanagan vineyards.
Growing up in Kelowna, I am extremely proud to showcase this region with it’s rugged landscapes, grasslands, spruce-fir forests and lake views. Throughout the years we have created a lot of treasured memories in this park. It used to be an annual “epic run” that I would do with a few friends every year and since 2013. We use this route to host charity runs along the Wildhorse trail to support mental health and the trail builders in this park. In 2017, The Wildhorse Traverse was born. To date, we have raised over $27,000 to help support the efforts required to maintain the trails in this challenging and remote area of the park.
